New Year’s Resolutions

I don’t usually do these but this year I have some things I would really like to change so I thought this might motivate me- to put them in writing for the world to see!
1. As I have stated on a few of my groups, and comments on other blogs, I am going to put things back where they belong. In December I had to hunt all over for my daughter’s school pictures, and some embellishments I had to finish a couple of projects. I did finally find them. One was not my fault, DD took her school pictures in her room to use one for something and they ended up under a pile of stuff. Two of the embellishments I had found in an odd place, so instead of putting them with the project, or with other embellishments of similar kind, I stuck them in this little tin I had bought at Michael’s and promptly forgot where I put them. The last embellishment(are you getting tired of that word? lol) had fallen out of the pouch I had the project in. I’m sure you wanted to know all that. LOL
2. To stop carrying the weight of MY world on my shoulders and leave things in the Lord’s hands. To take things one day at a time, and not worry so much, but know that God will take care of my family and me.
3. To stop being so guarded. I used to be a very open person, very friendly and “huggy” if you will. I feel like over the years and moving from IL here to NC I have lost some of myself and become too concerned with what people think of me, to not just be myself. I want to try to be a better friend, to my friends here and everywhere!
4. And the last one, not quite so “deep.” To frame, sew into pillows, hangings, etc. all these finished cross stitch projects I have!

After a trip to the library today, we went to the park. It was a beautiful day and not very cold! While I was sitting on a bench watching the kids a squirrel came right up to me! Then before I could get my camera(phone), he headed to a bench next to mine to investigate a purse and leftover fast food a lady had left on that bench. She noticed and came over so the squirrel wouldn’t crawl in her purse! She gave him a french fry and he ran to the other side of my bench to the base of a tree, where he proceeded to eat it. Look how close he let me get to take his picture!! After he was finished he went over to get another fry from the lady and her grandson, and another, and another.. lol Here are some pics of the kids I took as well.

Ornaments!!

Hopefully a friend of mine won’t check this blog and see their ornament before it gets to them. I can’t take credit for the tuck, a good stitching friend of mine sent it to me- you know who you are, my stitching angel!! The “santa corn” (cause he looks like an acorn) and the church ornaments, I actually stitched quite some time ago and just finished them off. Can’t rush these things, you know. lol

The designers are as follows- “Glory to God” is from a Leisure Arts book called “Timeless Ornaments” I think. The middle is from a Just Cross Stitch Ornament issue-2007, I believe Blue Ribbon Designs ins the designer, and the last is the Cricket Collection.

Just thought I’d show ya’ll our Christmas tree, and some cookies the kids and I made the other day. We forgot to leave some frosting white for snowmen and candy canes. lol

I have three birthdays!!

and today is the third one. I know you think I’m crazy, but let me explain. My first birthday is my actual birthday. My second is my baptismal birthday-the day I was baptized into the Lord’s family. And the third is today. I say that because I will always celebrate my life on this day! A year ago today I was held at gunpoint at work and robbed. Through the grace of God not only was I not harmed, but two of the three men were also caught and are now in jail. Birthdays are days we celebrate life, that’s why this is a birthday!

On a festive note, today my daughter made a “gingerbread” (actually graham cracker) house, at school today. It’s really cute. Here are the pictures. Please excuse my table, it has seen better days. I usually have it covered with a tablecloth!
